Contests

 

 

Hotchick and the Officers schedule guild contests several times per year for fun and variety. These contests are a great opportunity to those who seek to show a friendly competitive spirit and/or their prowess for game trivia and WoW lore. These contests are also fun and entertaining, and often reward interesting in-game prizes. If you have a contest idea, speak with Officer Hotchick.

In the spirit of Valentine's Day -- let's take a "leap of faith" with another Lawn Darts!

• Day: Saturday, February 15th, 2020 at 6:00 pm server time.

• Details: We will jump off a special ledge in Dalaran; whoever lands closest to the marker below will win CRD's Horde Lawn Darts Contest.

• Contest Rules:

  • Each person receives one jump, so use it wisely

  • Other than a ground mount, no other mount, racial or class ability; or flying contraption can be used to assist you with your take-off -- in other words, you can walk-off, run-off or use a ground mount to jump-off the ledge -- no flying is allowed

  • Jumps are organized, one at a time

  • Once you land, you must stay dead, so we can measure distance and determine a winner

  • This event will be recorded, so you can re-watch the fun!

• Prizes:

  • First, Second and Third place winners will choose between:

    • CRD lanyard

    • A personalized class-specific coffee mug

    • Warcraft Horde-themed placemat for your keyboard

  • All participants will receive a participation prize, but beware ... there is a "boobie" prize. If you receive the "boobie" prize you must wear the "nipple" above your head during raid, pictures will be taken to commemorate the winner

Back by Popular Demand! CRD's Horde Lawn Darts Contest -- ENDED  

• Day: Saturday, March 16th, 2019 at 7:00 pm server time.

• Details: We will jump off a special ledge in Dalaran; whoever lands closest to the marker below will win CRD's Horde Lawn Darts Contest.

• Contest Rules:

  • Each person receives one jump, so use it wisely

  • Other than a ground mount, no other mount, racial or class ability; or flying contraption can be used to assist you with your take-off -- in other words, you can walk-off, run-off or use a ground mount to jump-off the ledge -- no flying is allowed

  • Jumps are organized, one at a time

  • Once you land, you must stay dead, so we can measure distance and determine a winner

  • This event will be recorded, so you can re-watch the fun!

• Prizes:

  • First, Second and Third place winners will choose between:

    • CRD hat

    • CRD lanyard

    • One-month WoW subscription

We are Excited to Host CRD's Semi-Annual Horde Lawn Darts Contest -- ENDED

• Day: Saturday, August 12th, 2017 at 6:00 pm server time.

• Details: We will jump off a special ledge in Dalaran -- this location is different from the last time --  and whoever lands closest to the marker below will win CRD's Horde Lawn Darts Contest.

• Contest Rules:

  • Each person receives one jump, so use it wisely

  • Other than a ground mount, no other mount, racial or class ability; or flying contraption can be used to assist you with your take-off -- in other words, you can walk-off, run-off or use a ground mount to jump-off the ledge -- no flying is allowed

  • Jumps are organized, one at a time

  • Once you land, you must stay dead, so we can measure distance and determine a winner

  • This event will be recorded, so you can re-watch the fun!

• Prizes:

  • The Grand Prize is a Sky Golem Mount

• Details: We will jump off of Dalaran, and whoever lands closest to the marker below will win CRD's Horde Lawn Darts Contest.

• Contest Rules:

  • Each person receives one jump, so use it wisely

  • Other than a ground mount, no other mount, racial or class ability; or flying contraption can be used to assist you with your take-off

  • Jumps are organized, one at a time

  • Once you land, you must stay dead, so we can measure distance and determine a winner

  • 1st place wins a two-person Mechano-Hog mount

Thealin's Fishing Tournament -- ENDED

• Details: Thealin is looking for a particular fish. On Saturday, October 22nd, at 6:30 pm server, he will post clues in guild chat every 10 min. Before 7:30 pm server, the first person to give him the fish he is looking for, wins the GRAND PRIZE!

• Grand Prize: 17 Rare Lures, plus 5 Arcane Lures

• Runner Up: 30 Arcane Lures to hunt for your own lures

• 3rd Place: 1 Hexweave bag (30 slot)

• Day: Saturday, March 19th, 2016 at 12:05 pm server time.

• Details: Perseffonee will designate a cliff someplace in Azeroth. Whoever jumps off the cliff and lands closest to the marker below will win the Human Lawn Darts Contest.

• Contest Rules:

  • Each person receives one jump, so use it wisely

  • Other than a ground mount, no other mount or flying contraption can be used to assist you with your take-off

  • Jumps are organized, one at a time

  • Once you land, you must stay dead, so we can measure distance and determine a winner

  • 1st place winner receives, a one-month free WoW token

  • Runner-ups receive, in-game pets and prizes

Thealin's Trivia Contest: Win a Sky Golem Mount -- ENDED

• Day: Starting Sunday, February 7th, 2016.

• Details: Correctly answer Thealin's Trivia Contest and win a Sky Golem Mount. This trivia contest will run throughout the two-week period between Sunday, February 7th-28th. Whisper Thealin at any point during this three-week period to participate in the contest. Thealin has written a number of WoW-lore related questions. Whoever can correctly answer the most questions will win the Sky Golem Mount.

• Contest Trivia Rules:

  • Whisper Thealin to schedule a time to participate in the contest.

  • The trivia contest will be conducted in vent, with a 20-second answer timer.

  • All questions are derived from in-game lore; WoW-related novels, comics etc WILL NOT be included in the contest.

  • All questions have specific, "single-name" answers.

  • There are no trick, or misleading questions.

  • Questions are horde-dominant; if there is Alliance content it would pertain to major lore events.

  • There is a total of 50 points to be earned. Some questions are worth one point; others are worth several points. Whoever earns the most points will win the Sky Golem Mount. All participants who earned over 25 points will win a Hexweave Bag.

Hotchick's 10 Questions: Know Your Lore! -- ENDED

• Day: Starting Monday, September 7-20, 2015.

• Details: Sign-up on the in-game calendar. At some point, within the two-week period of September 7-20th, Hotchick will schedule a time with you and ask you 10 challenging WoW-lore related questions. Whoever correctly answers the most questions will win a Panther mount!

 

The Battered Hilt Scavenger Hunt -- ENDED

The Battered Hilt is a very rare item that begins the quest-line to obtain The Sister Blade, Quel'Delar. For the lore lover, this is a prized possession and a unique artifact of WoW history. This weapon was once weilded by the valiant high elven warrior, Thalorien Dawnseeker. However, in order to obtain this legendary weapon, you must first solve CRD's Battered Hilt Scavenger Hunt.

 

A special thank you to Thealin who generously donated the Battered Hilt, the secondary prizes and wrote the clues for this scavenger hunt.

 

• Day: Starting Monday, September 21, 2015.

• Details: There are five clues in total, one for each day of the week. Each day a clue will be posted; the clue will be posted on this webpage and on CRD's Facebook page. By Friday you will have collected five items. On Saturday, Thealin will be waiting at a disclosed location. The first person to reach Thealin and pass him the correct five items will win the Battered Hilt. The second and third person to reach Thealin will also win prizes.

  • First Prize: Battered Hilt

  • Second Prize: Royal Satchel Set -- Four, 28 slot bags to update your inventory

  • Third Prize: 45 Savage Blood, boost a crafted item to 685

 

MONDAY'S CLUE: Refine the fluid of 4 crude fish and brew with a choking weed to create this item.

 

TUESDAY'S CLUE: Bring me an offering to the Talon King of a time-lost-age of long ago.

 

WEDNESDAY'S CLUE: Bring me a sample of the Death God's blood from the beginning of time.

 

THURSDAY'S CLUE: Bring me a Will-O which lives in the shadow of that which gave the Kaldorei immortality.

 

FRIDAY'S CLUE: The Sha feed on strong emotions, requiring a balance to avoid. Bring me a representation of this spirit.

 

SATURDAY'S CLUE TO THEALIN'S LOCATION: At 7:00 pm server, a clue to Thealin's location will be posted in guild. The first

three people to reach Thealin with the correct 5 items will win the prizes. Good luck!
